Montana BBQ Cook-Off FAQ

Montana BBQ Cook-Off

The Montana BBQ Cook-Off was created by a group of  Absarokee folks and merchants in 2003, to give back to and promote the community. The Montana BBQ Cook-Off is the main fund raiser for the not-for-profit group known as the Absarokee Area Merchants Association (AAMA).

By promotion of the area, the event creates awareness and adds vitality to the community. The Montana BBQ Cook-Off is a source of civic pride, a show case to show others what coming together in a small community can accomplish.

With community support, grants, and fundraising the Montana BBQ Cook-Off has been able to procure most of what it needs to put on large festivals and events. This equipment is made available at no, or very minimal cost to the community via the Civic Club.

The AAMA is always receptive to helping and supporting projects that meet these goals and benefit the area.
