Well it is really cold here in Montana, but that is not stopping us from planning for this years event. 2016 will be our 14th year! The big news is that you do not have to wait as long since we have moved the BBQ up a week. This allows us to combine with the fine folks in Fishtail (6 miles up valley) to make a whole weekend of FUN.
When this BBQ idea all got started the Montana BBQ Cook-Off was the first BBQ in this region, now it is hard to count all the professional events.
We have a proud tradition to live up to here in Absarokee with our little towns BBQ. We strive to continue to keep this event at the forefront. Many competitions have come and gone, so we want to continue to lead as the oldest, richest, and biggest event in the our region.
This year we are receiving generous support from Briggs Distributing in Billings and we can now announce COORS LIGHT as our OFFICIAL beer. This partnership will allow us to have our best ever variety of craft and micro brews.
Soon we hope to have our entertainment line up set, because the Montana BBQ Cook-Off has evolved from a BBQ contest to a great music event too. We are calling ourselves the best free concert and foodie event of the summer. Really where else can you hear such great bands for free while tasting great food.
Last year we made a real effort to make the BBQ an even more family friendly event and we plan on expanding on that concept for 2016. Many exciting things for 2016………………………I can all most smell the smoke now.
